Umag,Croatia.It was an honor being named ambassador for this wonderful organization. My first order of business was playing the Adriatic Championships where I captured the Men’s 55 Doubles title with Vincenzo Piazza of Italy. I am presently in Umag,Croatia playing the GMP Cup. During my first match I experienced severe contreversy .Y opponent Pascale Saconne from Italy was unfortunately not a gentleman on the court. Our match was slater for 5:30 and the tournament organizers could not find him.He showed up at 6:05 and because he was this late with no valid excuse the umpire awarded the match to me by default.But being the new ambassador for Tennis Fairplay I agreed to play the match. Then came the arguments over line calls and the score which the roving umpire ruled in my favour.All this I could handle but when he refused to shake hands at the end of the match which I won 6-3,7-5,I concluded that this person is not a Fairplay person and will report him today to the head umpire.Life goes on during this European tour,must keep my cool and head up!
