Besides ranking points from outdoor national / indoor national, provincial or ITF event, a strong doubles team is needed as many matches outcome are determined by the deciding doubles match.

Unless the top 3 chosen singles players are strong in doubles the selection committee need to ensure a strong doubles team is included

Head to head results need to be factored in the selection especially on the same surface the world team championships is played at

Only national champion should be allowed to bump a player as he or she moves up in an age category

Agree, national outdoors should be restricted to Canadians

Team selection should be made right after the outdoor national and rankings published to allow players time to book vacation and get better airfares
